Reisterstown Meeting RoomPainted window screens are a folk art form that originated in Baltimore. Learn about their history from artist Michael Seipp and create your own small masterpiece. Materials provided.
Michael Seipp took a class from master screen painter John Iampieri over a decade ago, igniting his passion for creating this kind of art and for teaching others. His work can be seen all around Baltimore City. Seipp was awarded a Folklife Apprenticeship by the Maryland State Arts Council in 2021 for further study of screen painting technique with Iampieri. His goal is to leave no neighborhood unadorned by a painted screen. Learn more about Michael Seipp here.
