Behind the Book: Mutiny With Noam Scheiber
Monday, June 15
6:30pm - 7:30pm
Towson Branch
Towson RoomNew York Times labor reporter Noam Scheiber talks about his new book, Mutiny: The Rise and Revolt of the College-Educated Working Class, in conversation with journalist Alec MacGillis.
In recent years, young college graduates have faced an alarming reality: crushing debt, unemployment and jobs below their qualifications. They are frustrated that the time and money they invested in a degree have failed to bring about the opportunities they were promised. With striking empathy, Scheiber paints a vivid portrait of this new working class while telling the dramatic story of its revolt against the status quo.
Noam Scheiber has covered labor and the workplace for more than a decade at The New York Times. Veteran journalist and author Alec MacGillis is a senior reporter for ProPublica and an editor-at-large for The Baltimore Banner. Book sales and signings available following the program.
