Learn healthy lifestyle choices that help you manage high blood pressure and reduce your risk of heart disease and heart attacks.
By making healthy lifestyle choices, you can normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels in order to reduce your risk of heart disease and heart attacks. Each session is presented by the Chronic Disease Prevention Program at the Baltimore County Health Department, Bureau of Community Health, and includes personalized guidance, dedicated support and nutrition education. Also included are periodic individual consultations with a public health nurse.
To participate, you must:
Be at least 18 years old or older
Have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and/or are on antihypertensive medication
Not have experienced a recent (within the last 12 months) cardiac event
Not have had atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias
Not have had or not be at risk for lymphedema
