Catonsville Meeting RoomAuthor Gabrielle Cerberville presents an informative, entertaining introduction to lacto-fermentation using foraged ingredients to introduce her book Gathered.
In this friendly, demonstration-style class, participants learn the fundamentals of fermentation, including basic food safety, and explore how wild plants, fungi, fruits and herbs can be transformed into vibrant seasonal preserves. Cerberville covers the basics of choosing and preparing ingredients, identifying and troubleshooting common issues, stacking ferments, and imagining creative new ways to incorporate wild flavors into your everyday kitchen. This class is ideal for curious beginners as well as more experienced home cooks looking to expand their fermentation practice with creative, place-based ingredients.
