Author and educator Kate Gies discusses her experiences writing her book It Must Be Beautiful to Be Finished.

Gies' book is “a memoir of a girl born missing an ear, a medical system insistent on saving her from herself, and our culture’s desire to ‘fix’ bodies.” Kate shares her experiences writing her memoir and provides guidance on how to write nonfiction. Writers of all levels and genres welcome.
