Towson RoomBe introduced to the new traveling exhibit from the Hampton National Historic Site, "Changemakers: The People of Hampton and Their Roles in America's Story."
Descendant Engagement Specialist Miriam Herrera, in partnership with Hampton National Historic Site, introduces the new traveling exhibit "Changemakers: The People of Hampton and Their Roles in America’s Story," sharing stories of the people connected to Hampton Plantation in Towson and their impact in shaping America. This includes members of the Ridgely family who owned Hampton, the people enslaved and free who made its existence possible, and the thousands of descendants who lived on after them, including those living today. Since the founding of our nation, these individuals fulfilled roles as revolutionaries, leaders, artists and artisans, soldiers, educators, community builders, and activists to make a difference in the world around them.
