This six-week series offers a welcoming space for parents from all backgrounds to deepen their knowledge of advocacy, educational rights and the essential tools needed to navigate the school environment. Each 90-minute session is designed to provide practical insights and empower parents to become confident, effective advocates for their children. Through a combination of discussions, interactive activities and collaborative goal-setting, participants gain valuable skills to enhance their involvement in their child's education.
Topics covered in the series include understanding your rights as a parent, effective communication strategies with teachers and school officials, accessing educational resources and building networks of support within the community. Parents also have the chance to share their personal experiences and strategies, creating a collaborative environment where each participant can learn and grow.
Attendance at all sessions is encouraged but optional.
